    Canon Group companies in Thailand, consisting of Canon Marketing Thailand Co., Ltd., Canon Prachinburi (Thailand) Ltd. and Canon Hi-tech (Thailand) Ltd., participated in “60+ Earth Hour 2019” event by turning off electrical appliances and lights for one hour from 8.30-9.30pm on Saturday March 30th, showing their strives to reduce the environmental burden, including reducing energy consumption.

    The “60+ Earth Hour 2019” event led by The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is aimed to encourage individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour as a symbolic gesture to stop climate change and protect the global environment.

    BMA revealed that this year’s event was a success, with 1,514 megawatt reduction in power usage during the light-off hour which was calculated to have a cash value of 6.0 million baht or reduction of 749 tons of carbon dioxide. ​​​​​
