The RF70-200mm f/4 L IS USM is a lightweight compact telephoto L zoom lens that retains the approximate size of a standard lens. This makes it easy to take casual snapshots with ease. The lens is considerably smaller and lighter than previous models, thanks to the large-aperture mount design and short back focus that are unique to the EOS R system. Four Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lenses provide high resolution, and the image stabilization feature is as effective as a 5.0-stop*1 increase in shutter speed. This increases to as much as 7.5 stops*2 when used in coordinated control with the camera’s in-body IS, making it easy to shoot in low-light conditions. The lens is equipped with a nano Ultrasonic Motor (USM) that features low noise, speedy response time, and excellent controllability. This allows high-speed, high-precision focusing at any focal length or distance to the subject.
