Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues to advance its environmental sustainability initiatives under its corporate philosophy of Kyosei—"living and working together for the common good." Guided by this philosophy, the Company is committed to creating shared value for society and the environment through employee participation in sustainable activities. On 2 July 2026, Canon donated used PET plastic bottles and glass bottles collected from employees through the Greenhouse Gas Knights project to Wat Chak Daeng for recycling. The initiative encourages employees to properly separate, collect, and donate recyclable materials, ensuring that valuable resources are returned to productive use while contributing to environmental conservation.Through the enthusiastic participation of its employees, the Company successfully collected 120 kilograms of used PET plastic bottles and 8 kilograms of used glass bottles. The PET bottles will be sorted and recycled into synthetic fibers for weaving into Buddhist monk robes, while the glass bottles will be crushed, melted, and transformed into Buddha statues, alms bowls, and glass urns. This initiative not only adds value to used materials but also helps reduce the amount of waste requiring disposal.
The activity reflects Canon's strong commitment to promoting the efficient use of resources in line with the principles of the Circular Economy. It also raises employees' awareness of the importance of proper waste segregation and resource recovery, helping to reduce waste generation, minimize environmental impacts, and foster a more resource-efficient and sustainable society.
Based on the environmental impact assessment, this activity resulted in a reduction of 125.93 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kgCO₂eq) in greenhouse gas emissions. This achievement represents another significant step toward Canon's global environmental goals and demonstrates the Company's commitment to conducting business in accordance with the Kyosei philosophy, which emphasizes that collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to building a low-carbon society, advancing sustainable development, and creating a better world for future generations.
