    Reinforcing its Leadership in Technology and Innovations for Sustainability

    Canon High-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd won the Leader Level of the I-EA-T Sustainable Awards (ISB) 2022l from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand. The award recognizes its leadership in technology and innovations for sustainability. Representing the award-winning company, Mr. Kenichiro Kubo, President of Canon High-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd, received the the award trophy from Dr. Weeres Amrapal, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand on October 12, 2022.

    Mr. Kenichiro Kubo, President of Canon High-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd, said “Canon Group conducts its business in accordance with is “Kyosei” philosophy, which means living and working together for the common good. We also realize the importance of social responsibility along with our business operations and care for our stakeholders in terms of economy, society and environment with good governance. We adhere to the principles of optimal resource utilization throughout the product lifecycle and remain firmly committed to contributing to the society for sustainable development in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and moving towards Net Zero Emission”

    Throughout the years, Canon has been working to create sustainability in the community through its various CSR projects, such as the Biodiversity Conservation project named “Canon Water Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Water Hyacinth” which aims to encourage the local communities to turn the unneeded water hyacinths into natural fibers with an environmentally friendly process. These natural fibers can be woven into fabric, clothing, scarves and further upgraded to a value-added plastic-substitute material, which could generate income for the community. This project also helps strengthen good relationship within communities and partners as well as creates positive environmental impacts by reducing the number of water hyacinths for cleaner water, reducing plastic usage and carbon emissions as well as helps raise more awareness in environmental conservation.

    About I-EA-T Sustainable Business Awards 2022

    The award has been first established by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand under the project of “ISB: I-EA-T Sustainable Business” just recently this year. The objective of the award is to enhance capabilities of industrial entrepreneurs which aim for both social and environmental achievements along with the economic growth to create more balance in Economy, Social and Environment in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
