    for upcycling into high-visibility PPE suits for street sweepers.

    Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in partnership with KWE-Kintetsu World Express (Thailand) Co., Ltd., its logistics partner, organized the "Your PET Bottles Help Save Street Sweepers" project to encourage their employees to collect used plastic bottles (PET) and donate to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for upcycling into reflective PPE suits for street sweepers. Ms. Nontarom Thamtarana - Senior Manager of Quality Health Environment & Safety (QEHS) Department, together with Mrs. Praphavan Puttummavong - Senior Manager of General Affairs Department from Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. represented all employees to deliver all plastic bottles to BMA at Bangkok City Hall (Din Daeng) on December 27th, 2022.

    Under this "Your PET Bottles Help Save Street Sweepers" project, over 45 kilograms of PET bottles were donated by employees. These used plastic bottles (PET) will be upcycled and turned into synthetic fiber for making a high-visibility safety vest to protect street sweepers from road accidents.

    This activity represents one of the company's environmental conservation efforts. Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and KWE-Kintetsu World Express (Thailand) Co., Ltd are both committed to raise awareness about the reuse of waste materials, plastic waste reduction, environmental conservation, and reduction of greenhouse gas emission. In terms of the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which is regarded as a major cause of global warming, this activity could reportedly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 124 kgCO2e, contributing to the Canon Group Environmental efforts to create a sustainable society and future for future generations.
