Canon Hi-Tech Thailand wins ‘Excellence Level’

Reinforcing its Leadership in Technology and Innovations for Sustainability
Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd won the Excellence Level of the I-EA-T Sustainable Awards (ISB) 2023 from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand. The first Japanese company in Thailand to receive this award. The award recognizes its leadership in technology and innovations for sustainability. Representing the award-winning company, Mr. Kenichiro Kubo, President of Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd, received the award trophy from Mrs.Panadda Rungruangsri, Deputy Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand on September 18, 2023.
CHT has integrated sustainability into its business operation across all 4 main strategies, BCG Model Oriented, Sustainable Innovation Driven, Sustainable Culture & DNA and Business Impact Assessment (BIA) & Social Impact Assessment (SIA) for reflect economic, social and environmental achievements which the foundation for sustainable development with taking care of community and environment in a equilibrium. The results of the evaluation of the Business Impact Assessment (BIA) operations were overall score 114.3 is the level of excellence.
The highlights of the Social activity that CHT has implemented to create sustainability in the community is the activity "Canon water conservation and utilization of water hyacinth” which aims to encourage the local communities to turn the unneeded water hyacinths into natural fibers with an environmentally friendly process. Which, based on a social impact analysis, earned social return on investment (SROI) of 2.37. This project generates revenue for the community, to strengthen good relationship within communities and partners, water sources are cleaner, reducing plastic usage and carbon emissions.
I-EA-T Sustainable Business Awards is divided into 4 levels ; ISB Excellence, ISB Leader, ISB Strategy and ISB Initiator. Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) Co., Ltd won the Excellence Level.
