Canon Continues Field Trip to Science Museum Project for 3rd Year,
Introducing Students to Astronomy at Bangkok Planetarium

Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. reinforced its commitment to expanding educational opportunities beyond the classroom by organizing the 3rd edition of the Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project, held during National Science Week. A team of 21 employee Canon volunteers accompanied 131 students and teachers from Thammasi Suwannadit School in Samut Prakan, Watsabokkeaw School in Nakhon Nayok, and Baan Mahamek Home for Boys in Bangkok on a visit to the Bangkok Planetarium. Participants explored interactive science exhibitions and watched astronomical films under the star dome, an experience designed to inspire curiosity and spark a lasting interest in science among youth.

In its 3rd year, the Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project brought students to the Bangkok Planetarium, where they explored the stars, solar system, galaxies, and astronomical phenomena through engaging and accessible presentations. The activities not only sparked curiosity but also nurtured observational skills and scientific inquiry. Canon covered all travel, meals, and admission costs to ensure full participation.

Mr. Phongthep Prasertvoranun, Director of Corporate Communications and CSR, Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd, said, “The ‘Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum’ project aims to improve education quality and spark an interest in science and technology among youth. Many public schools in remote areas face shortages of teachers, equipment, and funding, making it difficult for children to experience learning outside the classroom. As a result, they often lack opportunities and inspiration to pursue science—a field vital to national development. Through this project, Canon not only creates access to learning but also inspires curiosity and instills a love of knowledge, helping children grow into capable individuals who will contribute to the country’s sustainable future.”

The Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project was first launched in 2023 and has so far engaged 9 schools, reaching 433 students and teachers. It is part of Canon’s ongoing commitment to supporting Thai youth education, in line with the company’s "Kyosei Philosophy," which emphasizes living and working together for the common good.

Canon accepts applications from public schools to participate in the upcoming Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project in 2026. Interested schools can submit their requests to the Corporate Communications Department at Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. starting in January 2026.
