Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum Continues for 4th Year,
Inspiring Young Scientists Through Hands-On Science and Innovation Learning
Canon, a global leader in imaging technology and digital solutions, continues its commitment to advancing education for Thai youth through the 4th consecutive year of the Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project. A team of 20 Canon executives and employee volunteers took 148 students and teachers from 3 primary schools on an educational field trip to the Rama 9 Museum and FUTURIUM, the innovation center of the future, under the National Science Museum Thailand (NSM) in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani. Canon covered all expenses for the trip, aiming to expand access to learning beyond the classroom for students from remote schools while inspiring, greater interest in science and innovation—key areas of knowledge and skills that will help drive Thailand’s future development.

The participating schools were Ban Plai Khlong 22 School in Nakhon Nayok, Paitaewanusorn (Ban Sang) School in Prachin Buri, and San Makha Bok Noi Samakkhi School in Saraburi. Canon employee volunteers guided the students through the Rama 9 Museum, featuring engaging exhibits on the evolution of the Earth and living organisms, ecosystems, and biodiversity in Thailand and around the world. The group then visited FUTURIUM, the innovation center of the future, where 7 interactive learning exhibitions introduced future technologies and innovations. Students explored transportation systems, disaster management, robotics, and energy through simulations, virtual reality, games, experiments, and working models that made complex concepts easier and more engaging. Throughout the visit, Canon volunteers served as mentors, encouraging students to ask questions, experiment, observe, and discover answers for themselves - helping spark curiosity and turn the trip into a meaningful and inspiring learning experience.
The Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project was launched in 2023 to provide students from small public primary schools with limited funding and science learning resources the opportunity to take part in free one-day educational trips to leading science museums. Open to students from Grades 1–6, the program has so far reached 12 schools, benefiting a total of 581 students and education personnel.
To extend this opportunity to more young people in remote areas, Canon is now inviting public schools to apply for the next Canon Volunteer for Field Trip to Science Museum project. Interested schools may submit a request for support for student educational trips to the Corporate Communications Department, Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., from now through 31 December 2026.
