Canon organizes its 5th year, 1st round used plastic bottles (PET) donation to BMA
for upcycling into high-visibility PPE suits for street sweeper

Canon Group in Thailand, namely Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) Ltd., Canon Prachinburi (Thailand) Ltd. and Material Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. organized the fourth edition of its "Your PET Bottles Help Save Street Sweepers" project to encourage their employees to collect used plastic bottles (PET) and donate for upcycling into reflective PPE suits for street sweepers to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) represented by Representative of the Environmental Department and Representative of the Magic Hands Foundation, Bangkok City Hall, Din Daeng on March 13th, 2026.
Under this "Your PET Bottles Help Save Street Sweepers" project, over 314 kilograms of PET bottles were donated by employees. These used plastic bottles (PET) will be upcycled and turned into synthetic fiber for making a high-visibility safety vest to protect street sweepers from road accidents.
This activity represents one of the company's environmental conservation efforts. Canon Group in Thailand is committed to raise awareness about the reuse of waste materials, plastic waste reduction, environmental conservation, and reduction of greenhouse gas emission. In terms of the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which is regarded as a major cause of global warming, this activity could reportedly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 323.73 kgCO2eq, contributing to the Canon Group Environmental efforts to create a sustainable society and future for future generations.
