Solution
Stereo sound recording is possible by connecting an external stereo microphone equipped with a miniature stereo plug (3.5 mm diameter) to the camera’s external microphone IN terminal as the external microphone is given the priority. Using the Directional Stereo Microphone DM-E1 (sold separately) is recommended.
NOTE
- Using Directional Stereo Microphone DM-E1 (sold separately) can reduce the sound of lens and camera operations that may be recorded in movies. Note that the built-in microphone is not used for recording when an external microphone is connected.
- It is not possible to use a microphone that supports plug-in power (which is supplied from a camera to the microphone).
- It is possible to use a condenser microphone. However, it is not possible to use a condenser microphone that requires phantom power (which is supplied from external power equipment to the microphone).
- It is not possible to use a dynamic microphone.
