The Speedlite EL-1 (Ver. 2) is capable of micro flashes of power as low as 1/8192 to express colour nuances, along with a high-speed flash recycle time of 0.1 sec and a continuous flash burst of up to 160 times. Apart from being dust and drip-resistance, Speedlite EL-1(Ver.2) can fire up to 340 times at full power of 1/1 with the new LP-EL battery.
The Speedlite EL-1(Ver.2) is engineered to provide stable flash burst at a low flash output. The new structure design with its improved firing circuitry provides precise flash output, making it possible to achieve 1/8192 micro flash.
Each reduction of power on the Speedlite reduces the output of the flash by half, effectively providing 1 f-stop of dynamic range. The Speedlite EL-1(Ver.2) offers up to 14 f-stops of dynamic range, from full power of 1/1 down to 1/8192.
With the Speedlite EL-1(Ver.2), you're able to wirelessly control up to 15 other flash units via radio transmission. If the main transmitter and receivers are all Speedlite EL-1(Ver.2), you could even wirelessly control the flashes to fire micro flashes of 1/8192.
The second-curtain synchro feature can also be utilised when paired with compatible Speedlites.
Flash recycle time refers to the time it takes for the flash to recharge sufficient energy to fire again and capture the precise moment.
The Speedlite EL-1 (Ver. 2)'s charging circuit and the use of a lithium-ion battery enable faster charging times, achieving full recharge in just 0.9 seconds* for a 1/1 output and 0.1 seconds for a 1/8192 output.
*using CP-E4N allows full recharge at 0.4 seconds
