The RF7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM captures beautiful image quality across the image from the centre to the peripheral.

Using an equidistant projection method, the lens maintains uniform image compression from centre to edge, preserving detail across the entire image circle. This helps maintain higher peripheral resolution when images are converted for VR viewing.

As a result, circular fisheye images captured with the RF7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM can be easily converted into 2D 180° VR content using Canon’s EOS VR Utility, delivering clear and immersive results from centre to periphery.

Aspherical Lens

A compact optical design is made possible using two replica aspherical lenses that aid in correcting spherical aberration and distortion. This helps to produce crisp, high-resolution images throughout the entire frame even at extreme fisheye angles.

UD Lens

The arrangement of five UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) lenses effectively reduces chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range.  Colour bleeding is lessened and accurate image reproduction from centre to edge is maintained.

ASC

By suppressing reflections on highly curved lens surfaces, Air Sphere Coating (ASC) lowers flare and ghosting. This helps maintain contrast and clarity even when bright light sources enter the frame.

Even with a built-in drop-in filter mechanism, the RF7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM remains lighter than the EF8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM, while delivering a wider angle of view. This balance allows creators to enjoy greater creative freedom with better convenience and portability.

With the Drop-in Variable ND Filter A or Drop-in Circular Polarising Filter A, you get flexible exposure and creative control while maintaining excellent balance for handheld shooting, gimbal use, and video recording.

With a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m, the RF7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM can achieve magnification of up to 0.35x*. The lens allows creators to move in close and capture dynamic, immersive content.

Close-up shooting exaggerates perspective and motion, while the fisheye angle stretches the surrounding space to create bold, creative visuals that stand out in cinematic and social video content.
