Firmware version 1.3.0 includes the following:
Canon Virtual Production System functions are supported.
Lens metadata suitable for virtual production is output to a camera compatible with the Canon Virtual Production System. *1

*Caution
・The firmware version 1.3.0 introduced this time applies to lenses with firmware version 1.2.0 or earlier. If the lens firmware is already version 1.3.0, you do not need to update. You can check the lens firmware version from the camera menu. Refer to the camera's manual for details on checking the version. Note that once you update the firmware, you cannot revert to the previous version.
■Preparing for Firmware Update:
The firmware (File name: CN036103.afu, File size: 2,883,636 byte) and firmware update instructions (PDF files in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Chinese) are included in the downloaded firmware folder. Please read the firmware update instructions carefully before starting the update process.
The following equipment is required to update the firmware.
1. lens body
2. Camera connected to lens * 2
4. The dedicated battery pack (fully charged) supplied with the camera or the dedicated AC adaptor kit (sold separately).
5. Memory card compatible with the camera (Refer to the camera's instruction manual for information of memory cards compatible with the camera.)
6. memory card reader (or PC card slot)
7. Firmware file for update (firmware file downloaded from the website)
